Barbie Our Car Buying Role Model
Growing up with three sisters, the Barbie doll fascination just really escaped me. I wanted a Ken doll, he just seemed a bit more realistic as a role model for me. My sisters worried about nail polish and when they could wear nylons, I wanted a tree house in the back yard. I am 100% all girl and love the guys but my interests were much more athletic naturally. Check out the limited production Barbie themed hot pink bug reviewed by Car and Driver recently, is this what women want? Do we think Barbie pink when it comes to our car buying decisions?
Growing up I wanted a bike, roller skates, to go back packing and loved to camp. I loved being outside , while my sisters stayed inside and played records, painted their nails, wore rollers in their hair and played house with Barbie, yuk! Okay, I admit I was a bit of a tom-boy…I loved to hang out with my Dad in the garage while he tinkered on our family car or played hide and seek in the backyard.
As it turned out two of my sisters are nurses and one is in real estate, traditional careers for women. I took the natural path to competing in male-dominated industries beginning with the world of technology and then eventually got in through the back door to the automotive industry. I love all things car and automotive related….and have been very successful competing in these male dominated and high paying fields.
Now, lets take a look at Barbie and her role model to us girls in regards to what kind of vehicle is supposed to flip our buying switch. The good news is that Barbie did love to drive and over the years had several makes and models that little girls loved to own. Did these Barbie makes and models teach us what we should buy or what kind of automotive purchase fits us?
Barbie has owned many sports car editions,( quite a few convertible editions that punctuate the sexy Barbie image), sedans, a limo, a jeep 4×4 , an SUV, a VW van, vintage cars, remote control editions and the recent electric jeep for little girls to drive on their own. There is a selection of Barbie motor homes, RV’s and camping trailers, so Barbie did like to camp, ( I have a daughter and three granddaughters who love to camp with me in my RV), thank you Barbie!
There is a NASCAR themed Barbie doll but NO Barbie NASCAR race car, Hmmmm. Reflective of this race series? Don’t get me up on that soap box! Barbie did hook up with a young female race car driver in an open wheel race series in 2001 Ashley Taws, driving the “Be Anything With Barbie at Wal-Mart” car decked out in an attention-grabbing pink and purple color scheme.
Barbie’s tastes in her automotive purchasing has evolved since the 60s, she even rides a Harley in today’s updated version, and so do I.
Although I am tall , blonde and wear a 36 XX and to some, might think I idealize the Barbie look (certainly in my younger days), however, I have never owned a pink or purple car, truck or RV. The 2006 Barbie catalog of dolls is interesting to review and these Barbie role models are what the girls of today are looking at to form their view of what they want to grow up to be like and will influence their buying decisions.
I have three granddaughters, my seven year old loves Barbie and I am sure the younger ones will all get the Barbie influence and the Barbie world part of their upcoming birthday and holiday gift wish lists. I find the 2006 Barbie doll collection a bit disturbing, a sexy maid? a nurse? a sexy bikini? a fashion statement? a bride? a sexy cowgirl? What is Barbie saying to my precious granddaughters?
What are your thoughts on Barbie as a role model for young girls, her influence ultimately on women’s car buying decisions and career choices or are the Bratz dolls going to be the new influencer’s?

Ayrton Senna - The Greatest Of the Greats
If there was one driver that should truly get credit for being the greatest in Formula 1, then let it be Senna. Why Senna? If you can just look at the some of the achievements that he accomplished; you will just see for yourself that Ayrton was truly the best of all. Many suggest that Schumacher was the greatest, but Senna never had the weak contenders that Schumacher compete against.
When Senna was actively racing, he has to competing against some of the greatest drivers there was. The likes of Mansell, Prost, Piquet, and Lauda. All of these drivers were World champions and to think that Senna had it easy in his F1 career was totally oblivious. It’s no wonder that Senna could not win as much as he could because The competition was so intense, and very difficult that he can only muster 3 World Championship instead 7 that Schumacher have.
Now 3 World Championship was plenty but no where near as much as Schumacher had. But if you compare both of these great drivers base on statistic; Then you’re not seeing the whole picture at all because being a great driver is not always base on statistic but as the best all round driver and Senna had just that. In racing there are a lot of factors involved: luck, the best car, no competition, and politics. If you had all of these at your disposal, then even the most average driver can be a world champion. Schumacher did have most of these factors and truly he benefited from these things that’s why he was able to win 7 World Drivers Championship. I’m not suggesting that Schumacher was not a great driver, he was the best when he was racing, but only because he had the fastest car and lack of competition that he was able to get that many world championship.
Senna could have done the same if not better if he didn’t have Prost. Prost was his teammate at the time he joined Mclaren, and obviously Prost was already a 2 time world champion so how does Senna measure up against this established world champion. Senna was able to beat his teammate with the same car and also the same team. Schumacher had team orders to let him by, Senna didn’t have that luxury, so Senna had to proved to Mclaren team that he was the best.
Competition is needed to judge the best drivers, and not just any competition but competition against drivers that have almost if not the same skills and the same equipment. After Senna’s unfortunate demise; there was no one left to stop the rampaging great that was Michael Schumacher.
As an amateur racer and a student Mack Jacobson strive to be succesful in every endeavor he undertakes. Want more Senna articles? See this website at

How To Watch Satellite TV On PC
How do we watch satellite TV on PC?
This is a common question people are asking, people who are after a solution to constant expensive satellite television fees.
Watching satellite TV on your PC has become very common and is not hard at all. Of course, you won’t be able to watch it in HD quality like many satellite and cable companies now offer, but it’s very common to get access to thousands of TV channels on your PC, 100% legally.
The purpose of using satellite TV on PC is to save having to pay monthly subscription fees of $50-100 that typical cable and satellite cost, this adds up to a lot of money by the end of the year and is why thousands of people are now using satellite TV for PC services.
Satellite TV for PC may not be for you, if you enjoy being able to watch HD channels on the plasma screen infront of the sofa, you are out of luck, however, you can set the software up to run on your big screen, so this is a bonus.
To use satellite TV for PC, you will not need a very powerful machine at all, machines with Windows 98 and just 90mb of RAM can use satellite TV on PC, of course having a high spec PC is a bonus, but you can enjoy the thousands of channels without having to have a good PC.
I hope this gives you a good idea on how satellite TV on your PC works, yes you can get thousands of channels, no you won’t get HD channels or anything like that, but you can get a much larger variety of channels than a typical cable or satellite company provides for a one-time fee, as opposed to a monthly subscription.

Satellite TV On PC - Watch TV Online
What do you know about getting free satellite TV online? Did you know this kind of technology was even available? It is and it is out there for free for you. It’s called Satellite TV on PC. What exactly is this satellite TV on PC? It is a free to air satellite TV online. Instead of watching the television in the living room, you can watch it on your computer.
So how does someone get to use his or her computer system as a television set? First off, be sure that computer is more than up to date. A system less than a Pentium III 333 may not have the speed and RAM to handle the live or recording streaming that comes with Satellite TV on PC. Make sure the system has at least that. Also, be sure the internal hardware includes a more than adequate graphics card. A video card that can handle higher graphics is needed. Anything less can have skips, stalls and may not even play. You should also have a good size computer screen, sound card and speakers. It may be a good idea to have a high-speed Internet connection as well.
Many of these satellite TV channels can be found online through many different websites from many different channels. You may already have a favorite channel on your television set. This same channel could already be offering free satellite TV on their website accessible through your fingertips and mouse. You can also do a search online for channels available for satellite TV on PC.
By buying a copy of the free to air satellite software online, you can download and install it within a matter of minutes; leaving you to enjoy 3,000 channels anytime you want. What kinds of channels are being offered? How about drama, sports, news and even kid shows such as cartoons and other anime. Even those who know little about computers can put this software easily on the computer.
Now you may wonder what type of software you will need on your computer to be able to enjoy all your new free satellite TV needs. Microsoft Windows based software starting from Win 95 will do nicely (though most computers come equipped with Windows XP).
With two ways to get free satellite TV, there is no reason people ought to be missing out. Should you want to take advantage of the satellite TV on PC software, visit My Blog and learn how.

Soccer or Futball - Why Does the US Lag in World Competition?
Perhaps you played soccer when you were younger? In other nations they call it Futball, not soccer like in the United States. Maybe, because of your youth soccer sports you might follow Professional Soccer. I follow Futball a little bit, since I played for 7-years as a kid.
Indeed, recently I read a story that made me laugh. I laughed when the World League made a ruling not to play at high-altitudes such as Bolivia, I use to run against folks who lived and trained at 5,000 to 8,000 feet and when they came down to sea level, they were unbelievable in the endurance category. Futball is a GREAT sport, winning is the best part about it.
In fact, I believe that Futball will become a USA major sport, because in my generation and all those that follow, kids play it and as this continues to be, a dominant youth sport and those kids grow up, it will too. The major media promoting “US Football,” baseball, basketball, have strong franchise systems and brands, like NASCAR in the US.
Soccer is weaker up against these franchises like the NBA, AFL, NFL, etc, but that will not be the same in the future. I think the US needs to do better in the Olympics and the World Soccer Scene and when they do, if they ever win a World Cup, then I think you will see a Change. Also consider that with 300 million people we have many athletes to draw from and we will then be competitive in the World and the US will grow in support of the sport.
Personally, I support “youth soccer” with car wash fundraisers in the US and believe we teach kids sports, keep them from getting juvenile diabetes, teach teamwork, hard work ethic, about winning with integrity and listening to coaches, while promoting the next generation of coaches and/or mentors in every sort of human activity. Yes, I believe in this very much actually.
Futball is a way to help build nations, unite countries in sports competition and get everyone respecting each other, I would hope this could be done. One thing we discussed at the Online Think Tank was that in Iraq, Palestinian territory of Jordan and even Afghanistan, we should build giant soccer fields both indoors and out. This will allow young people to burn off some of the youthful energy.
Remember in many of these countries, with the 22 year old average male population, that spending energy in sports will build character and perhaps prevent them joining suicide bombing squads. We should make humans stronger with personal character and they will tell the radicals to take a hike or punch them out if they suggest suicide bombings. Sincerely, Lance.

Cleaning RC Cars After the Rain
The rainy days can either be fun or not. When you have your RC car, truck or plane out in the pavement, track or field, the last thing that you need is for the heavens to pour its water over you. But don’t blame the heavens if it rain. For all you know, rain can be a good thing for other people. The point in racing RC cars is that keeping it in good condition at all times, no matter the weather, is a top responsibility by the owner.
Keeping a good performing RC car is not very hard to do. Though it can take most of your time for doing it, if you look at your work in the end, you won’t regret it in any way. There are several things which you need to check on, and this concerns the wheels because it is in contact to the wet ground. The front spindles should be checked first and if there is any slop on the wheels, clean it out. Checking also the tightness of the wheels after it got wet is important. Check the wheels, shake it and if you think its loose, go ahead and pad or shim it then replace if necessary.
As for cleanliness, check the ball stud or also called the ball cup for any excess dirt. This is the part of your RC car that keeps a lot of unnecessary dirt and when it rains, it doesn’t make your cleaning job any easier. Since dust, heat and rain wears this part of your RC car, you might want to check this area regularly and see if its needed for replacement.
Since there are parts of your car that are made out of plastic and metal, be concerned with the plastic made parts more. They are prone to easy wear, tear and cracks. Replace any part that are in this condition. The metal parts are not an exception, do check them as well.
When you check all these, you wouldn’t be worried much of your next race or run outside — even if it rains.
Racing Radio Controlled Cars is a perfect site in the internet to learn all about RC cars, tips on racing and maintenance.

The Founding of NASCAR
Some people love it, some people hate it, some people do a little bit of both, but one thing is for sure: no one can ignore it (or its fans). Whether it drives you giddy or drives you crazy, NASCAR is here to stay. For those who are in the former category (and there’s a lot), there is one person to thank: the late, the great William France, Sr.
As a mechanic, William France Sr. knew cars inside and out. From their engine to their transmission, from their tail pipe to the pine tree air freshener swinging on a rearview mirror, France had a natural knack for cars. He also had an idea: he believed people would enjoy watching stock car races. If he built it, they would come.
In 1935, France moved from Washington DC to Daytona Beach, Florida in hopes of finding work in a Great Depression laden economy. With knowledge of the area and the land speed record attempts, France entered himself in the land speed event. In 1936 he finished fifth; in 1938 he took over as course manager.
Before his involvement, races were a risk in more ways than one. Dishonest promoters typically sold their drivers on large dreams and riches, only to take the money and run before the drivers were paid. This, in part, led to France’s belief that stock car racing needed some kind of organization; it needed to become an association with a rigid set of rules, set schedules, a set championship, and protection for all those involved.
In December 1947, France summoned some of the most well known racers and race promoters to propose his ideas. They met at a hotel in Daytona Beach where it is rumored that an outline of the point system and the “official” rules were written on a bar napkin.
After just two months, NASCAR was officially formed on February 21, 1948. From there it was, quite literally, off to the races.

Stained Glass Effect Christmas Paper Lantern

To make the stained glass effect paper lantern you will need…
A ball shaped paper lamp shade/lantern in any size you wish. Felt tip pens, black paint.
You need to create a design for the lantern. Draw the design on a sheet of paper. You could draw the nativity scene, a Christmas tree, Santa Claus or maybe ‘Merry Christmas’. The design needs to be simple and bold.
Once you are happy with the design you can start work on the lantern itself. First you will need to erect the paper lantern. It should have assembly instructions with it. Unfold the lantern and insert a wire expander inside the lantern, this slots into place and keeps the lantern erect and taught.
Take a black felt tip pen or a marker and draw the design on to the paper lantern. Be careful when you are doing this because the lantern is made of paper and the wet ink makes the paper fragile. If your pen does accidentally ‘go through’ stick a small piece of paper on the hole to patch it up and leave it to dry.
Once your design is complete, paint the background of the lantern black. This is so that the lantern blocks out some of the light. Again you need to take care not to puncture the paper. Use two brushes to paint the lantern, a thin brush for small and detailed areas, and a thick brush for large areas.
Top Tip - Paint from the top of the lantern to half way down, and leave to dry. Then turn upside down and paint the other half. Use a dish to stand the lantern on, it stops it from moving and raises it up from the work surface.
For best results, give the lantern two coats of black paint.
Once the paintwork is dry, you’re ready to apply the stained glass effect. With coloured felt tip pens, colour in the white areas of your design on the paper lantern. Again take care.
Now hang the lantern up from a ceiling light in your home. Every time the light is turned on your delightful design will glow like a stained glass window in a church on a sunny day. The lantern is a fun and unusual Christmas decoration.
Do not use a higher wattage bulb in the lantern than indicated with the lantern instructions and packaging.

Hands-Up-To-The-Sky - Ricardo Kaka Biography
Kaka Biography - Introduction
I’m writing martinsville nascar tickets Kaka biography a few weeks after the 2006/2007 Champions League final, a final ending with a happy result, 2-1 for the Brazilian’s team, AC Milan against England’s Liverpool.
I must say, as impressive as Filippo Inzaghi (who scored both AC Milan’s goals) was, my eyes were focused on the Brazilian Kaka throughout the entire match. His passes, his dribblings, his speed and his vision on the pitch were honey to my eyes.
I decided to write this Kaka biography not because the Brazilian nascar tickets charlotte it, but because I want you to find out who the real Ricardo Kaka is, how he rose up the ladders of his career before being a super star and what exactly does that “hands-up-to-the-sky” kaka celebration mean.
Kaka Biography - Early Career
After spending his early days at different youth clubs around his home town of Brasilia and Sao Paulo, Kaka was eventually offered a professional contract at a very tender age: seventeen.
Since Kaka played great soccer for Sao Paulo’s youth teams, the reserve team and the Brazilian U-17 national squad, he immediately attracted the eyes of several European clubs, the one coming forward first being Turkish side Gaziantepspor.
Sao Paulo agreed to sell Kaka, for a sum of $1.5m, a sum that, if you think of the player’s market value now, would seem like peanuts. Still, the sum was quite big for the Turkish side, especially for a 17-year old footballer, Kaka’s young age giving them no guarantees that he will turn out to play great soccer regularly on professional level.
Kaka Biography - Swimming Pool Incident Sao Paulo FC
In his first season as a professional player for Sao Paulo, Kaka didn’t play for the Brazilian team, but he used this time to accommodate himself with his new colleagues and the hardships of professional soccer in Brazil.
He was probably going to get his debut that season still, but an unfortunate swimming pool incident almost ended his career as a footballer, Kaka fracturing his spine in September 2000. Not only did he risk his future, but this fracture almost cost him his life and he was in real danger of being paralyzed for the rest of his life.
Miraculously, Kaka made a full recovery and came back to training after his full strength came back to him. From that day forward, Kaka found faith in God and some of his profits as a professional footballer always go to the Church, as a small gesture of thanking God for saving his life and his career. The famous Kaka celebration, after he scores a goal, is related to that incident, as each time, he thanks God for allowing him to play soccer and be there on the pitch.
Kaka Biography - Attracting the European Giants
After fully recovering from his horrible fracture, Kaka was finally given a chance to play for Sao Paulo, in January 2001 and he didn’t disappoint, scoring no less than 12 goals in 27 appearances that season. This guaranteed him a solid first team place for the 2001-2002 season, in which he scored another 10 goals in 22 matches and whenever a young Brazilian soccer player performs that well, he’s bound to get a few calls from some major European clubs.
One of these clubs would be AC Milan, one of Italy’s most important teams and Kaka signed without blinking, eager to start a European career.
You probably know the story from here. Kaka is currently in his fourth season with Milan, whom he won the Serie A championship with once, the Italian Super Cup once, and the UEFA Champions League a few weeks ago (he also played another Champions League final in the 2004-2005 season, but lost it to Liverpool in what is considered one of the most beautiful finals of the tournament). He became an indispensable player for AC Milan but also for Brazil.
As a Brazil soccer player, Kaka scored 31 goals in 52 matches so far and gave out numerous perfect assists in his role as an attacking midfielder. Memphis Tickets the young midfielder in the squad, Brazil football became even more technical and quick (if that was even possible) and they’re considered amongst the main favorites for the following international tournaments.
